                                 Work at Nursery Fields

We are pleased to announce that work at Nursery Fields is pretty much finished.  There may be one or two signs up for the odd finishing touch, so please observe them if you are fishing there, but all in all it is pretty much finished and a dam good job they have made of it.

On another note, we were horrified to find that a member had stuck a bank stick in the path and it was barely a day old, this is mindless and we will not put up with it, the member was duly warned and if caught again he will have his membership revoked, there are signs up clearly asking members not to do this.

Below are some pics enjoy.

Breaking news, earlier today there was an nasty accident involving two members at Nursery.

Nigel Govett was trying to overtake John Dourly on the wide stretch of path near the disabled pegs, the end result was a catastrophic catastrophe. Bits of old blokes everywhere said one eye witness account.

I interviewed Mr Dourly and here is what he said. " I was quite happily trying to get to my swim when I heard Nigel looming behind me, I looked to my right and the next thing I know he was along side me with a evil glint in his eye"

Mr Govet refused to comment, the club in the mean time has enforced a speed limit on the path of 5mph.

The club chairman said that the health and safety officer for the club Mr John Cacket has since put the new ruling in.

Disabled swims.

       Chitenden

Please do not leave rods unattended, the club rules clearly state that that you must not do this, if you wish to leave your peg bring in your tackle first.

Work in progress.

Wow - there is even room for Nigel and all his gear now.

                                           Gates

We are finding that gates are being left open, please make sure that you shut them as we do not require unwelcome guests. It has also come to our attention that non members have been given the combination to the gate, if you are being picked up by a third party you must meet them at the gate do not give out the gate number to non members.

Bob The Beast At Chittenden

Report just in from Mr Tom Hodkinson that the below creature was seen lurking around, he can be found at peg 35 at Chittenden and is quite keen on the odd maggot, thanks for photo Tom I think it is great.

Membership is now full we have reached the cap limit already, we are quite surprised as we do not normally hit this until August, we are sorry if you missed out I understand that there will be a waiting list, please watch web site for news on how to join this.

   Gabriels Fishery

Fishing for members is only valid until the end of May, we where unable to reach an agreement with the owner, so from the end of may members will no longer be able to fish either the river stretch or the lake,  if you wish to fish at this venue you will have to pay the day ticket charge.

Let the fishing commence, Chittenden and Nursery are now open, members please be aware that guest tickets are not available in June.

             Meet the Bailiffs

I am extremely sorry to have to subject you to this, but I think its about time we met some of the guys that police our waters.

We rely on our bailiffs to make sure that people are abiding by the rules of the club, they do astounding work and we applaud them, below are two of our bailiffs.

On the left is Nigel Govet and on the right is Mick Killick.

Protect Our Waters From Deadly Viruses

Every year a number of waters are devastated by huge losses of stock to viruses such as SVC and KHV, and already it appears that there are problems at some fairly local fisheries. Please help us keep our stocks healthy, by using net dips where requested, just as importantly at waters, other than our own.

One of the most effective ways to protect against transfer of these viruses is to thoroughly dry your nets between fishing trips. If you dry your nets by hanging them out, as you would your clothing after washing, the ultra violet radiation  from the sun will kill the majority of likely threats.
