                                       Hop Farm 31/01/10

Six people turned up to this to find a extremely fast and angry river, but despite that our John Cacket managed to winkle out some skimmers to the tune of  02-05-00, Ken Staton came second with 00-11-00 no one else managed to put anything else on the scales making it a very barren day.

Chittenden                                             (silver fish x mass cup ) 24/01/10

The ice had mostly melted leaving the venue fish able once again, it was a cold day but no where near as extreme as the temperatures had been.

Eighteen people turned out to fish which was not a bad turn out, Paul Heniker came third with 11-00-00 closely followed by John Gore with 12-13-00 but Colin Wood had the last say fishing Active 8 pellets (yes they do smell like wotsits Colin) for a weigh of 14-13-00 .

Hever 17/01/10

Yet again it was a very cold day with the river running very high into hever, most anglers headed for the lake in a hope of escaping the flow.

This in fact paid off  for Ken Staton who managed to weigh in with 14-06-00, not far behind him was John Cacket with 12-08-00 followed by Alan Davis with his weight of  07-00-00. The next match is at Chittenden lets hope the lake has thawed a little by then.

Bodiam 10/01/10

Due to traveling conditions and venue conditions this was cancelled and believe me it has to be real bad for our guys not to go out.

K Staton   14-06-00  1st

Somerdon/moved to mill farm 03/01/10

Only five people turned up and the decision was made to fish Mill Farm.  John Cackett then went on to use his magic chub skills to winkle out 3 chub on the quivertip using bread for the total of 6lb 8oz.  Ken Staton managed to winkle out a single chub for 2lb 9oz also on the quiver tip and bread.

Richard leppard came in third place with a chub of 2lb 2oz which he managed to bribe out of the water using pole maggot tactics.

J Cackett  06-08-00 First

Match review 27/12/2009     Xmas Sunday

Only the brave and the folk that really needed to escape from the wife and the kids fished on Sunday.

On arriving at Nursery they found the venue was completely iced over and the decision to move to Hever was made, they decided to fish the 1st and 2nd bays at Hever and had approx 12 anglers turn up.

The river had colour but was moving extremely fast, there was still a large amount of river debris moving in the fast current, this of course made fishing difficult.  It was not long before one or two of the brave few that had came along, decided it was time to go home and finish off those last mince pies.

J Dourly won the day with 4lb 6 ozs, C Wood came 2nd with 7 ozs and Roger Harris along with Graham Roth drawing in 3rd place with 6 ozs.

For those that stayed it was cold and the fishing did not improve, but all had a fun on a cold day and were in good cheer.

J Dourly     4lb 6 ozs  1st place

Some of the anglers in the 1st Bay at Hever, that came along. I think one of them has gone for a walk!

It was that cold I pulled them off and put them in my pocket.

C Wood   7 oz   2nd place
